Shetland Arts are looking for bands and musicians making indie, rock, metal, rap, electronic and other contemporary and non-traditional music and based in Shetland to record and stream a live performance in March 2021 from Mareel.

In the third phase of our Creative Scotland Performing Arts Venue Relief Fund commissioning program Refresh Now, we want to work with local bands to produce a short live performance film and accompanying EP. The film will be broadcast on Shetland Arts social media and online platforms and both the EP and Film will be owned by the band or musician for their own promotion and marketing.

We invite bands based in Shetland that:

  • Are able to perform a short set (20 - 30 mins) of original material

  • Are performance ready (some rehearsal time will be supported and made available)

Shetland Arts will provide:

  • One day's rehearsal and one days live filming/recording in Mareel

  • A payment of £150 per day per performer for two days

  • Technical support to produce the work

  • A film maker

  • Marketing support

  • Producing support from the Programme Manager
