V&A Dundee's Scottish Design Relay is a national project that is coming to Shetland, managed by Shetland Arts.

Dates
Sept - Nov 2017
Partner
V&A Dundee

The Scottish Design Relay will start in Dundee before travelling to five other parts of Scotland to encourage and nurture a new generation of designers.
In each location, a group of young people will work alongside local designers and be introduced to an object in the V&A collection with a link to their community. Taking these objects as their inspiration, the young people will then develop new designs and create prototypes that will also be displayed in V&A Dundee when it opens next year.

If you're aged 16-26 and you'd like to take part, all you need is to be able to attend all workshops (see dates below) and have a desire to learn new things! But there are only limited places available. To apply, give us your name, age and tell us something about your favourite object or design* by email, video or other digital means to: [email protected] Or, if you prefer, you can doodle it on the back of an envelope, make a mood-board or sketch and hand it in to Mareel Reception marked 'Design Relay'. Quick! You only have till Sunday 10 September to apply...

*Design can be anything from a toothbrush or a font to a simple problem solving idea!
