Located in Scalloway, the ancient capital of Shetland, The Booth is a purpose built live-work space for visiting artists.
Managed by Wasps Artist Studios, Glasgow, artists can apply to stay at The Booth for a month at a time and applications are welcomed from artists working across all disciplines. The serene surroundings can be used to influence a new body of work or stimulate the senses to create a Shetland-specific, arts related project.

The building was constructed by Scalloway Waterfront Trust in 2001 on the site of the oldest building in the village. It consists of a combined 'clean' working area and living space which is located on the upper level and a stone-walled basement for more 'dirty' work. There is a walled paved area outside which directly overlooks the sea.
