Award-winning Shetland fiddler Jenna Reid will return home to Shetland to perform a special concert in Mareel presented by Shetland Arts on Saturday 28 June. Jenna will be accompanied by guitarist Kevin Mackenzie, pianist Harris Playfair and her sister, and fellow-fiddler, Bethany Reid.

Jenna welcomes you to join her as she plays in three special duos showcasing her work as a soloist. Since releasing her debut solo album and being awarded ‘Best Up and Coming Artist’ and nominated as 'Best Instrumentalist' at the Scots Trad Music Awards, Jenna has undoubtedly remained one of the brightest talents ever to grace the traditional music scene and remains in high demand as a performer and tutor. Jenna is also a member of both Blazin' Fiddles and RANT.

Jenna said: “I'm really excited to be performing in Mareel. It’s the first time I've played a solo concert in Shetland in a few years and the first time for me as a soloist in Mareel. I'm delighted to be joined by my sister, Bethany, Edinburgh guitarist, Kevin Mackenzie and fellow Quarff musician, Harris Playfair for this special one-off concert in Shetland!"

Shetland Arts’ Marketing Officer, Lisa Ward, said: “We’re very much looking forward to welcoming Jenna home for her first ever headlining concert in Mareel. Jenna and her sister Bethany are also curating Shetland Fiddle Frenzy 2014, which runs from 3 – 10 August this year, so it’ll be lovely to have them both here again later in the summer too.”

Tickets for this concert are on sale now and cost £16 / £14. Book your tickets now via Shetland Box Office in Mareel & Islesburgh, over the phone on 01595 745 555, or online here.
