It was busy in Da Gadderie at Shetland Museum & Archives on Saturday the 13th of May for the opening of ‘Fisherwomen’ exhibition by Craig Easton - a collaboration between Shetland Arts and Shetland Amenity Trust.

Last weekend, an inspiring new exhibition celebrating the role of women in the fishing industry opened at The Shetland Museum.

The exhibition, titled 'Fisherwomen', features striking, large-format portraits of women who have worked in the fishing industry - both past and present. This captivating display pays homage to the significant role of women in the industry - from Shetland to Lowestoft.

Read more about the exhibition that was created by photographer Craig Easton here.

In collaboration between Shetland Arts and Shetland Amenity Trust, the exhibition runs until Sunday 25 June 2023. Visit the Shetland Museum and Archives website here for more information including opening hours.

We would like to thank everyone who attened the opening of the exhibition, especially the women and families of those who featured in the exhibition.
