Jazz drummer Alyn Cosker will be playing two concerts in Shetland with his quartet as part of a tour to support his debut solo album “Lyn’s Une”, recently released on Linn Records.

The group will be playing at the Lerwick Town Hall on Friday 5th of February and the Bigton Hall on Saturday the 6th.

The young drummer from Ayr has played with jazz luminaries including Tommy Smith, Courtney Pine, Jim Mullen, Jason Rebello, Brian Kellock and Carol Kidd as well as international superstars such as Lee Konitz, Gary Burton and Joe Locke.

His funk fusion band comprises Scottish guitarist David Dunsmuir, who's playing is heavily influenced by Alan Holdsworth, Michael Janisch on electric/acoustic bass and Konrad Wisniewski on saxophone.

We’re really pleased to be welcoming Alyn and his band to Shetland. They’re all hugely gifted players with talent to spare and their live performances are exceptionally funky affairs!

Tickets are available, priced £10 (£8 concessions), from the Shetland Box Office, Islesburgh Community Centre – 01595 745 555
