In addition to the print and drawing workshops with Berenice Carrington Shetland Arts will be hosting workshops on drama and narrative non fiction writing for both adults and children to take place over the summer.
Local author Malachy Tallack will host a narrative non fiction writing workshop at Mareel on Monday 27th July. Tallack, whose articles, essays and reviews have been published in a variety of places, will be launching his own book Sixty Degrees North: Around the World in Search of Home this month, and the workshop will focus on tools and techniques to help writers turn their own experiences into words.
‘Stage 1 Summer School’ is a 5 day drama project for 7 – 11 year olds, lead by leading youth theatre practitioner John Haswell. The workshops will focus on a range of drama skills, developing confidence, encouraging creativity and having lots of fun! Workshops will run from 10th – 14th of August, and will culminate in a performance in front of family and friends.
Tickets for all these events are available through Shetland Box office at Mareel & Isleburgh, online or over the phone on 01595 745555
