Shetland Arts is celebrating 25 years of Shetland Youth Theatre on Sunday 25 August by taking over Mareel in an innovative and thought-provoking performance that sees some of the wonderful characters of SYT productions over the years reborn and reimagined. This will be a celebration of the diversity of past performances and members old and new of all ages from 12 upwards are welcome to get involved!

The weekend-long intensive workshop will focus on characters from previous drama productions and will use different areas around Mareel as theatre spaces to create an interactive performance. Participants will learn how to respond theatrically to a variety of performance spaces in a short, exciting development time, working with acclaimed Director John Haswell.

Workshops open to all aged over 12 years (including adults and previous members of SYT).

Saturday 24 August 10am - 5pm

Sunday 25 August 10am - 4pm

The weekend will culminate in a takeover of Mareel with pop-up performances on Sunday 25 August 4.30-5.30pm!

Tickets will be available soon in person from Mareel and the Shetland Arts outlet at Sumburgh airport, by phone on 01595 745500, or online at www.shetlandarts.org
