What we can offer:
Space to make in, mentoring, technical and production support, administrative and marketing support, networking, fundraising assistance, residencies and programmed performances.
Who we would like to work with:
Artists exploring or developing their performance practice, in any medium. From poets to musicians, dancers to playwrights, we're interested in working with a variety of artists to further their work. We intend to work together with our associates to create new pieces of work and use our skills and contacts to help them gain confidence to develop their career.
We are looking for artists based in Shetland or with a strong connection to the islands, through their lived experience. The relationship between Shetland Arts and the associate artists should enrich life in the islands, as per our trust deed aims and have a legacy that benefits our community beyond each projects' initial life span.
How it would work:
Shetland Arts would, in discussion with the artist(s) agree on the best model of support for their work or project, including the most suitable budget and timeframe with the aim of a performance, in whatever form that will take. The length of each associateship will vary depending on the needs of the artist and the programme will be regularly reviewed to ensure mutual benefit.
How to apply:
Send a brief outline of the idea, project or area of your professional development you would like to work on during and associateship with us to [email protected]
Please include some information about yourself as an artist and your work to date. Feel free to include images, drawings and links to websites, recordings and film. Please use no more than two sides of A4.
