Mareel, Bonhoga Gallery, Garrison Theatre and the ShetlandMade retail outlet will not be opening this week and will remain closed until further notice. Staff are being supported to work from home where possible and will continue to work on ensuring access to the arts in Shetland during this time and in the future.
Shetland Arts Chief Executive, Graeme Howell, said “This decision was not taken lightly, but for the welfare of our staff, customers and all of Shetland we need to follow public health advice and reduce pressure on essential services.
We hope to see you again soon, in the meantime we recognize the importance of the arts to health and wellbeing. We are exploring new ways of sharing our work online and are busy updating the website, YouTube channel and social media with even more great arts content to enable folk across Shetland to continue to access the arts from their own homes.”
Any customers with tickets booked for films or events until 2nd of April will receive a refund, if you booked without an account but paid by card you will also receive a refund, if you paid by cash please get in touch with us on [email protected] with your order number which is printed on the ticket.
Shetland Arts have taken the decision to close their venues temporarily in the light of the latest government advice to limit non-essential travel and contact as part of the international effort to reduce the spread of Covid-19.
