Felt is an installation inspired by touch. It is a solo performance rendered by movement, music and shape and performed entirely under a large sheet of black wool felt.
FELT: How does fabric make us see, hear, touch, react - and move? A sculpture becomes an amorphous creature-like structure appearing almost as an inhabited being. Skin and cloth, constantly transformed by bone and muscle, unfold in a cascade of moving landscapes and flowing lines.
Elisabeth will deliver the workshops at the Methodist Church Hall, Lerwick, looking at contemporary dance and choreography techniques, and will explore the themes and concepts of her new choreography, FELT. Participants will share what they have learned from the sessions as an opener to the performance.
The workshops are booked in one block and are as follows:
Thursday 18th July 2019 12:30 - 16:30
Friday 19th July 2019 10:00 - 14:00
Saturday 20th July 2019 16:00 - 17:30 (performed at Mareel)
FELT performance Saturday 20th July 5pm – duration 45mins.
