We are taking part in ‘Culture Makes…’ a UK-wide campaign celebrating the impact of culture within communities and help make the case for investment.

Over the next 8 months we will join monthly collective actions on social media, showcasing the impact our activity creates.

The aim is to establish a new understanding of the value and impact of culture, that leads to enhanced investment by governments.

150 organisations across the UK have now signed up to take part and amplify the impact of culture and heritage through the campaign.

Artists, creatives and cultural & heritage organisations of all scales and locations create impact with and for their communities, but we struggle to articulate the value of what we do in a clear and robust way. Culture Makes... aims to establish a new understanding of the value and impact of culture and heritage that leads to enhanced investment by governments and enhanced support from audiences.

Culture Makes... will launch at a critical time for the cultural sector; at a time of ongoing standstill funding from central government, an almost £500m decline in investment from local authorities in recent years, in the face of losses due to Covid, ever rising energy and wider cost of living increases and the news that philanthropic support of culture has more than halved – now is the moment for an overwhelmingly powerful sector voice that cannot be ignored.

If you or your organisation would like to join us, you can signup throughout the 8 months of the campaign here: tinyurl.com/culturemakes.
