You’ll need to get on your dancing shoes for the Up Helly Aa Hop at Mareel on 1 February, as the venue welcomes outstanding Scottish funk band Federation of the Disco Pimp.
Providing unstoppable grooves since 2010, Federation of the Disco Pimp are Scotland’s premier exponent of modern funk. Combining elements of old-school funk, disco, psychedelic and jazz, this 7-piece band of Scots are legendary for their endless energy and blistering live sets, and picked up the 'Best Live Performance' prize at the 2016 Sunday Herald Cultural Awards.
Mixology DJs led by Lyall Halcrow are also on the bill.
The concert will take place in the Mareel Auditorium at 9pm on Wednesday 1 February 2017. Tickets are £25, with a £5 early bird discount available if you book before 1 January.
