Shetland Art’s popular Fiery Sessions return with another exciting line-up featuring some of Shetland’s best traditional musicians - Eunice Henderson and The South Mainland Fiddlers, Maggie and Brian, Ewen and Martha Thomson and the High Level Hot Club! The Fiery Sessions take place from 12-2 and 3-5pm in the Garrison Theatre on Tuesday 30 January, with a visit from the Junior Jarl Squad during the second performance.

Maggie Adamson and Brian Nicholson are a much-loved fiddle and guitar duo, who have been playing together for over nine years, with a wide-ranging repertoire bridging traditional Shetland tunes with American, Scottish, Eastern European and classical styles.

Ewen and Martha Thomson were brought up on Fair Isle and benefited from the enthusiasm and tunes of fiddle player, Stewart Thomson, snr, their grandfather and great-grandfather, respectively. They have both played in a number of Shetland-based bands, but always enjoy coming together to perform a mixture of traditional Shetland, Irish and Breton tunes.

Eunice Henderson and The South Mainland Fiddlers and the High Level Hot Club demonstrate the breadth of talent and skill in Shetland’s upcoming young musicians.

Tickets are available in person from Mareel, by phone on 01595 745500, or online here.
