We are holding a celebratory event at Bressay Lighthouse for the final day of the exhibition Conditions by Amanda Welch on 24 June from 11-2pm.

This will be an opportunity to see the work created in response to Amanda’s exhibition by artist Vicki Fleck, who has been in residence at the lighthouse throughout June. Amanda will also be there to celebrate the end of a successful exhibition and show some additional work created during her residency in May as part of the Beyond Bonhoga off-site programme of visual art exhibitions. Both artists have been benefiting from the fantastic weather to make work about the landscape and their experience on Bressay. It’s a free event and a great trip out for all the family to meet two inspiring artists in a fantastic location.

Over 100 school bairns have visited the exhibition and taken part in outdoor drawing workshops, inspired by Amanda’s work. Meanwhile, local artist Aimee Labourne has been delivering Sunday drawing workshops throughout June. Her final workshop on 24 June will coincide with this celebratory event and can be booked via the Bressay Development Group.
